Naqvi Lab Quantitative principles of gene regulation in development and disease

Wenxuan is a recent graduate of Northeastern University with a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology and Honors in the Discipline. Her research focuses on retinal regeneration, stem cell fate determination, and the cellular mechanisms that enable tissue repair. In the Monaghan Lab, she developed primary and organotypic culture platforms for axolotl retinal pigment epithelium, neural retina, and dorsal root ganglia, while investigating how RPE-choroid interactions and microenvironmental cues influence retinal regeneration. Beyond research, Wenxuan enjoys mentoring younger students and supporting international and first-generation undergraduates as they navigate research and co-op opportunities.
